In my experience preamps are the least transparent electronic components in most HiFi systems, and I'd say that an £800 preamp is going to mangle the signal from a TP/SB+/DAC quite noticably. (Example: my preamp was £2.5k (a Nakamichi CA7), and removing it from the signal chain made a noticable improvement).
If you don't have any other sources, then my advice is to feed the TP/SB+/DAC directly into the power amp, using suitable passive attenuation if necessary. (If you have other sources but they're all digital, then you can use the TP as a "digital preamp"). -- cliveb Performers -> dozens of mixers and effects -> clipped/hypercompressed mastering -> you think a few extra ps of jitter matters? ------------------------------------------------------------------------ cliveb's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=348 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=34849
