If you need a preamp, then I reckon you should be thinking about
spending much more on it. In my experience preamps are the least
transparent electronic components in most HiFi systems, and I'd say
that an £800 preamp is going to mangle the signal from a TP/SB+/DAC
quite noticably. (Example: my preamp was £2.5k (a Nakamichi CA7), and
removing it from the signal chain made a noticable improvement).

If you don't have any other sources, then my advice is to feed the
TP/SB+/DAC directly into the power amp, using suitable passive
attenuation if necessary. (If you have other sources but they're all
digital, then you can use the TP as a "digital preamp").
