A line level (analog) input will usually have two RCA jacks, red and
white for left and right. [A phono input may have the same
connectors/colors, but should only have a turntable plugged in because
it goes through equalization/amplification]

A digital input will only have one RCA jack, and will sometimes be
orange. So for digital you need one cable (75 ohm video type, usually
has yellow on the plugs), while for analog you need 2 RCA cables.

My recommendation for good cheap cables is Blue Jeans. A Ten foot RCA
set is $43 (just checked), and that's for the low profile cable that
might be easier to run alongside the baseboard. I use their digital
cable, which is similar quality and pricing, and figure it's good
enough to keep me from wondering what might sound different.
