One thought comes from this discussion, and it's been pondered before... I wonder if Squeezebox owners could create their own, semi-private FreeDB system of rich, elaborate tags? I have one piece of software (Movie Collector from www.collectorz.com) that has a user-built database of DVD information that is extremely rich, accurate and complete. It really works well, and even easily designates between different versions of the same movie, using the UPC as the ID field.
The basic rule for the collectorz.com site is, don't bother submitting a title unless you have painstakingly added all possible information and that information is accurate. Of course, a few tags are matters of opinion, such as "genre" tags...but we could include multiple genres and then let the user decide which one(s) to keep. Something like this would be great for classical music, as that currently isn't well-supported on other data sites, and classical music has several extra meaningful tags that are largely ignored on most sites. -- Pale Blue Ego ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Pale Blue Ego's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=110 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=34928 _______________________________________________ audiophiles mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/audiophiles
