Well there is a performance issue right now in the firmware that is can't quite Down Sample 24/96 Flac file that is highly compressed. You'll get cracks and pops. They are working on a fix to optimize the Flac decoder. So if they indeed fix this it's a sound quality improvement in my book. Why can't there be other more subtle bugs. There certainly is enough bugs in Slimserver to show that things are far from perfect. The company that supports my digital preamp just fixed a firmware bug that caused some bass loss due to a prior bug introduced. They fixed it and it sounds better and it's in firmware. Sure why can't different versions of firmware have bugs that impact audio quality. How often and how bad these bugs are is hard to say. But it is surely possible. -- mswlogo ------------------------------------------------------------------------ mswlogo's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=9090 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=35274 _______________________________________________ audiophiles mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/audiophiles
