DVD AE does not read audio from AUDIO_TS; it only demultiplexes audio from VIDEO_TS. Probably, your discs have the hires audio in AUDIO_TS; this is standard for DVD-A. The discs I'm reading have the 24/96 stream in the VIDEO_TS folder.
