They did have cards which identified each unit - you can see one at the top (side) of the "veteran" as well as ones on most of the units on the break-in bench. Those cards probably identified the order and dealer, they probably don't know who the owner is yet. However Brian did show me a room full of drawers with index cards on them identifying each and every unit ever produced and its current owner.
