I'm sorry - terribly remiss of me not to report back. Yes I did, and I have to say they sound fantastic. My whole living room seems filled with sound, which is great. Many thanks to everyone who replied on the thread - I'm sure this was the right thing to do and I really appreciate being pointed in this direction. I do, umm, have one rather small problem. I can hear some random radio station through the speakers, even when the Squeezebox is switched off! It goes away a little bit when I move the cables around but it's still there, and actually quite audible most of the time (I can hear the words they're saying). Any ideas? I'm guessing the cables are picking it up from somewhere but I'm at a loss to discover what I did to make it happen.
