I've never noticed this with lossless compression, but for mp3s, ** YES **. That's the thing I notice most with mp3s - poor encoding of highs. I find it most noticeable with things like cymbals and snare drums. Instead of having a discernable 'splash' and decay, they often sound one-dimensional and clipped, a bit like a small explosion without texture. -- JJZolx Jim ------------------------------------------------------------------------ JJZolx's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=10 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=35686 _______________________________________________ audiophiles mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/audiophiles
