Yes, absolutely! The analog circuit can make or break a design, IMO. The Lite Audio DAC60 I owned had absolutely top notch DACs and associated chips (BB 1704) but I felt the output stage was a tad forward in the midrange. Not the most transparent.
My current DAC, OTOH, has the older PCM63 chips but resolves much better due to a superior analog output stage.
