TP will have lower jitter (although that also depends on the cable you use), so theoretically the sound will be better. However the SB3 already has quite low jitter and I doubt there's going to be an audible difference. But since you're about to spend $20K on speakers it seems reasonable to spend more than $300 on your source, just in case :-).
SD has a money-back guarantee - why not order both a SB and a TP, see if you can hear a difference, and return the one you don't want?
