Hi - I initially used my SB3 straight into the my power amp and thought the sound was good (for the price extremely good). After a month or two I used my DPA dac which was an improvement (although now of course I had to insert a preamp), I then also tried the Oritek Modded Zhaolu which I preferred - it was an improvement but not a quantum leap. That came a few days ago when I built the Peter Daniels NOS DAC - as I have posted in DIYAudio this is the first time ANY digital source has begun to sound like my analogue. Happy - I should say so - it seems that my digital source is now settled - back to fiddling with the analogue!
