Nothing is absolutely impossible.
But, and its a big but, the CD is dead. The RedBook spec is 25 years old
and is not going to be changed. SACD and DVD-A were supposed to be the 
audiophile solution to CD's limitations, and they have failed.

And this means all pop/rock/alt/emo/... music in the past decade or 
more. In theory, they could be remastered from the original tapes, but
there is no reason to expect that. Only a tiny number of CDs sell enough 
to get a second printing, let alone remastering.
