Hi Does anyone know if the usual volume algorithm are used for replaygain tags.
My understanding is that if you use the digital volume control above 40, then there is only minimal quality loss (due to reduced SNR). What happens when you use replaygain? Ulitmately I'm trying to ask, if I'm using the inbuilt volume anyway, is there any negative (soundwise) to using replaygain. I can't really hear any difference but as you know, us hi-fi buffs are paranoid and it's difficult to compare due to different volume settings.
