As azinck3 points out a barcode scanner plugin is already in existence - so you're in luck. Like you I have a large collection and I find having all my music stored digitally has made it difficult to remember albums. Somehow it seems a visual trigger is often my preferred way of selecting something to play and I also find browsing screen after screen of albumart cumbersome when I don't feel like getting up or grappling with a wireles PDA. To get around this I right clicked and selected "open link in new tab" whilst hovering the mouse over the slimserver Albums link. A browser window opens and lists a series of album covers and album names. I printed this to PDF and then printed the PDFs on a colour printer. I now have a file with all my album covers printed so I can page through it and select albums the way I used to when I still had the CDs readily available. -- egd http://www.slimdevices.com/pi_transporter.html? >> http://www.bluejeanscable.com/store/shopbycable/1800F.htm >> http://www.atc.gb.net/homeamplifier/sca2.html >> http://www.bluejeanscable.com/store/shopbycable/1800F.htm >> http://www.atc.gb.net/domestic/scm100slat.html ------------------------------------------------------------------------ egd's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=3425 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=37079 _______________________________________________ audiophiles mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/audiophiles
