Gosh, Claymores, not heard one for, well, some time! I do remember that
I preferred it to the Nait, but it was a long time ago. I almost bought
one but spent all the money on a record player!

Assuming it works OK, it should knock the spots off a mini of any kind.
Since the wife doesn't like it, I assume you didn't get one of the gold
plated ones? They were totally lush!

Not knowing anything about what music or presentation you like makes it
hard. If you like real music (classical, acoustic, real instruments not
noise), I can recommend these:

- they should go for around £350ish. I have a pair for my kitchen
system; they're tiny and sound stunning. If you like rock music then
the combo may not be perfect.

Zanash's Aurousal's look cool - are they fostex drivers? I am a fan of
full-range drivers. £500 seems decent value if they are.

Anyway, given that the Claymore was £300+ish 20 years ago, in perfect
condition they should be as good as £1k amps nowadays, give or take.
Certainly good enough for £1k speakers, although kit can deteriorate
over time, and I don't know how easy it will be to service.
