Robin,
I am also not in the "all digital sources are the same" camp.

Nevertheless, I am in the "if you can't tell blind then you can't be
sure" camp.

Well, I trust my ears. I just don't trust my brain! It can play tricks
on me.

I understand the point about long-term listening. But if short-term
listening can be mistaken sighted, so can long-term listening.

So, what if short-term blind listening was inconclusive? Perhaps a
long-term blind test is part of the answer. Difficult (maybe very
difficult) to do, but for me I would never trust myself without it,
especially after my latest experience...
