Great example.  In those competitions, participants would probably do
*worse* given faster switches.  On the contrary, in audio difference
tests participants do *better* with faster switches.  That's the point
of research - sometimes it teaches you things.

I think there's some linguistic confusion here - I have no idea how one
(I may have said 'you' before, but I'm American, and here you=one) would
compare two things, let's call them A and B, other than by comparing
them - that's what I call an A/B test.

Agreement would be very boring :-).  No, I don't agree.  First, I think
short-term tests are much *more* likely to reveal differences, based on
the research I've mentioned above.  Second, even if that isn't correct,
what needs to change is the length of the test - NOT its DBT nature.  A
non-DBT test will never be meaningful, but a long term DBT (while
possibly difficult to perform) might be.
