Wasn't meant as anything but constructive (literally!). My comment was intended to convey my general opinion of "if you can prove it to yourself, others' opinions are irrelevant", and that such experimentation is great fun. There is no downside to such experimentation: even if you find that your hard work has had no sonic effect (in your opinion), you can share the fruits of your work with others, to help them to do some fun experiments too. If you do find an improvement, then you win win win: you get better sound, learn something and have fun. The worst that can happen is two out of three!
