Tyler obviously DOES understand the technology.  Do you?  Extremely few
people, even few engineers, understand the charging cycle of a
capacitor input power supply (a large current spike full of harmonics)
and the problems it causes.  He clearly is aware of this.  

Choke input power supplies largely cure this but are physically
impractical.  Audiophile designs partially cure the problem through
improved characteristics of high speed rectifiers, but the current
spike is still there, and radiates badly, just like the author said.

Vague statements about line conditioners as a cure-all for mysterious
noise are always suspicious.  Discussions about the merits of expensive
AC power cords are complete nonsense.  And yes, I am an audiophile with
real gear; including good tube electronics and a real vinyl repro
system.  I don't doubt that attention to detail creates good sound; I
doubt bad physics when I hear it.
