The preference issue is the complicated one, isn't it?!  I recently got
some Heybrook Sextet speakers off Ebay, and the difference from my
Living Voices is dramatic - but which is best?  I find that it is best
to live with them for a while, then try the old ones again, and
ultimately try to work out which make me listen to music more - which
engage me, make me listen later.

In the end, it was as much the practical side that did it for me - the
Heybrooks work very well close to the wall, whereas the LVs need space.
My central London apartment needs all the help it can get with
maximising space, so I'm selling the LVs!  They both sound great, but
different...

I also subscribe to what can be considered the 'groove' feeling - I
want to like the stuff that looks cool, or has cool tech (or is just
more expensive!).  Sounds like you did too before you did the blind
test.  The question is, are you happier now? ;)
