pat:

i think i understand what you're saying. i can open the music's
location in windows explorer, right click on it, send it to the desktop
as a shortcut, and then drag that desktop shortcut into a "master"
directory. 

more than likely i'll use "my music" on the os drive as the "master"
directory. then i'll create shortcuts to f:\flac and g:\mp3. does this
sound right to you?

now, do i need to setup slimserver to scan the "master" directory when
adding/looking for new music?
