I've dem'd a mid-range ($600) Marantz SACD player and found it to be roughly on pair with a CD player costing around twice the price. I'd expect a real high end CDP to walk all over a $200 SACD unit. Thinking about it, my old DVD player is SACD capable and costs around $200 when new. It never gets used.
