Whoah there! You do NOT want to ground either leg of the signal when
taking an XLR output to an RCA input. That is going to short the
output.

For going XLR output to RCA input, the non-inverting (+) line should go
to the RCA and the inverting (-) should be left floating (not
connected).

ONLY when feeding an XLR input from an RCA output do you want to ground
the unused signal line.
