This comment may lead some to believe that Jive could be out in November (or shortly thereafter). I'm one of the Jive beta testers, and as far as I can recall didn't sign any gagging agreements, so....
The Jive hardware is really rather nice. It has a few minor niggles, mainly regarding the sensitivity of its wireless reception, but I suspect these can probably be fixed fairly quickly. On the software front, my feeling is that Jive still has a fair way to go before it's ready for production. The people working on it are performing minor miracles and things are progressing pretty fast. But I work in the IT industry and I know that the last 10% of development that's needed knock off all the rough edges and get things rock solid for production release takes a huge final effort. IMHO there's no way Jive could possibly be ready for release this year, let alone November. I think it'll be well into 2008 before it's available for general purchase. -- cliveb Transporter -> ATC SCM100A ------------------------------------------------------------------------ cliveb's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=348 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=39434 _______________________________________________ audiophiles mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/audiophiles
