Okay, then we're saying the same, but I've misunderstood you and I couldn't make clear what I meant. To be clear about what I'm saying, I'm talking about the signal/bitstream that enters the cable directly after the CD/DVD player. If that's the same there can be no difference. Ofcourse there probably will be differences if the elcheapo CD player gives incorrect timing signals or has more (not corrected) read errors.
