In case anyone has an SACD library and wants to do this, it turns out there's a not-too-difficult method. You need an SACD player that can output PCM through an HDMI connection. (I think most SACD-capable universal players will do that, but I haven't tried it myself to be sure. Oppo sells one for ~$150.)
Then, with an HDMI to DVI + SPDIF converter box (like http://www.hdtvsupply.com/hdmi-to-dvi-digital-audio-converter-adapter.html), you should be able to split off the SPDIF audio, send it to a computer soundcard, and record a hi-res WAV file. -- opaqueice ------------------------------------------------------------------------ opaqueice's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=4234 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=40027 _______________________________________________ audiophiles mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/audiophiles
