lets assume you didn't like the direction the thread was going from your replies.
I used the simple expedient of clamping the sb3 by its rear foot to a "vibration sink " made from a sheet of 18mm mdf 6mm rubber sheet and a 6mm granite placemat with felt feet. Yes it makes the unit sound better by a small but obvious ammount ....more a question of resolution than out right more bass or treble. As to why this should work ....my guess is that its stopping vibration getting in rather than getting rid of vibs produced by the sb3.
