No. I tried this with a Meridian DAC using the Toslink output from the SB3. Even with this option set the DAC would still not allow the Coaxial input to take priority when the SB3 was turned off. Maybe there is something in the DAC that senses the connector is inserted, or maybe the laser is not turned off in the SB3. I'd be interested in some clarification on this.
