Yesterday I had the chance to listen to the Transporter as a friend came over and brought his new toy. In the beginning I was quite sceptical as I thought my setup was quite good to start. My SB3 is connected to a Benchmark DAC1. First we compared both sources connected to the benchmark - no doubt the Transporter was clearly ahead in every respect. Fed into the Preamp showed that the Transporter not only has excellent digital outs but is a better DAC than my beloved Benchmark. Both are not worlds apart sonically but it is more engaging to listen to the Transporter over a prolonged period of time. If I did not own an excellent DAC already I would buy a Transporter immediately.
P.S.: This is a beautifully crafted piece of equipment. The only thing I did not like are the glossy handles.
