Well, just want to point out that I am using a tp, not an sb. Also I prefer the native decoding to server decoding, as does amcluesent. Others with a tp prefer server decoding, so it's not clear cut.
But, I can imagine the sb, with it's single wall wart power supply possibly being overdemanding when natively decoding. But that doesn't answer why the tp would sound better.
