What I'm using in my more modest bryston/totem system is an ADCOM GCD-750 CD Player which indeed has a digital coax inputs, as well as balanced outputs. And also does HDCD decoding. Once I got the SqueezeBox, it only now performs as a DAC! I agree - more upper end CD players should make their DAC available. Cheers!
