That's exactly what it means.

I plan to try this out as soon as I get round to buying some digital eq 
and a good quality microphone, and get it all calibrated!

Actually, I've got a few excellent microphones (B&K measurement mics - 
previously used to measure aircraft noise around a major UK airport) but 
they're not exactly portable!
