Since opening this thread, I have downsampled all 24/96 files to 24/48. It works perfectly! I recommend it to all SB users as the solution. This sounds much better than SB's interpretation of the 24/96. I went with Voxengo's r8brain pro and am a very happy listener. With most albums I actually can't hear a difference between the downsampled tracks and the original (played on an Oppo 980h). I tested a few down to 16/44.1 and that did bring a noticable loss.
