Sad that one individual can manage to get multiple threads out of
whack.....

I'm going to provide you my experience with the Benchmark, it's not
directly what you ask for but I can at least vouch for the DAC1

The DAC1 is a very serious product and it really got all you need, now
with the DAC1 pre you also got analogue input.
The only thing that you wouldn't be able to cater for with the DAC1 is
if you want fully active speakers with digital crossovers, other than
that the DAC1 does it all.....

I have auditioned DAC1 in systems that are way way better than mine and
still getting the impression that DAC1 is not the weakest link.
I listened to DAC1 with a messenger preamp (the best preamp in the
world?), spectron power amp and Von Scweikert Vr4Jr, certainly no lack
of warmth here, a fantastic setup, and the DAC1 plays on with the some
of the best there is....

DAC1 gets you out of the “upgrade train” in a way that you can buy this
tiny little box knowing that you will never have to upgrade because it's
just so good....
>From what I have heard, the DAC1 today is also a better performing DAC
than it was a few years ago, some minor changes of components and
layout has improved the product. (Correct me if I'm wrong)

You can never be 100% sure about many things, but there's one thing
that's for sure. you can't go wrong with the DAC1.

I'm not saying it's better than the PS, because I don't know that.....
