I have the Welborne supply.

I have a wife who is very acceptable to A-B'ing as well as my 90 YO Dad
who follows this hobby of ours. It's amazing how good his hearing is!

On with the Welborne PS. A-Bing the Welborne we heard no discernible
difference. At first we thought we heard a change in smoothness but not
enough to pass our the A-B testing. I was disappointed at the expense,
especially given the shock over the power cable upgrade(Power cables
were VH Audio flavor 4 - outlet to Power Pack 5 line conditioner
modded).

Two Weeks have gone by and our system is really sounding great! Can't
remember the last time we had the TV on! Last night out of curiosity I
switched out the Welborne PS and replaced it with the switcher. I felt
something missing with the switcher but didn't have a chance to A-B
properly so I cannot draw a conclusion. It will be interesting for me
to see if this supply needed a break-in period. I'm hopeful to A-B
tonight to draw some conclusion to the PS upgrade where it seems many
folks think this makes a significant upgrade to our SB2,3's.

My amps are very resolving so perhaps that factors into the test.

Being the audiophile that I guess I've been for 40 plus years I had
become pretty jaded when it comes to certain so called audio myths.
I've never had a problem hearing differences in interconnect cables and
have built many an interconnect as my job/position affords me this.
Recently I built some DIY power cables from VH Audio. We were
completely surprised at the differences not just in clarity and
dynamics, but imaging. I had resigned myself to think that the Def
Tech's (bi-polars) I've owned for 10 plus years would NEVER give me a
solid central image. Got one now! We honestly don't have the
understanding why this cable had such a positive effect on sound but it
did. I've changed 2 others since then, to the pre/pro and a PS3. The
effects were both positive but to a lesser degree, probably due to the
former upstream power cable upgrade. I feel it a waste of time to
replace the stock power cord on the 5V linear. So I'll do it anyway.
After all, this is our hobby.
