And I will not argue on that one with you! I was just stating that a fuse can be much smaller gauge and not effect the larger conductor because it only effects a short distance. The size of cable needed is dependent on the distance of the cable. However splicing in a smaller piece for a short distance does not cause a "bottleneck" it just increase the total Resistance a bit of the line which would increase the heat.
