I agree with Bigfool about the calculation of profit (or mark up), but I suspect the profit margin is even closer to 100%. That $15 estimate for parts is generous, even if we are talking about over the counter retail prices. If we were to consider trade prices for bulk purchases, I suspect the parts cost would be no more than a few dollars, making it only one or two percent of the retail price.
