The sound quality is the same between your version and the current one. So don't worry about that. Have a look in this thread, the issue is the same, i.e. it is a non-issue, and I'm sure The Guy Who Writes Firmware can confirm that. http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=45374 Admittetly it is in principle possible that something changed, but the folks who made the thing says nothing changed and the vast majority of users hear no difference. My recommendation would be to upgrade if you want the new features in SC7, or have other issues with the current version which is might be fixed in SC7.
