Hello Everybody,

Tripath filed for bankruptcy protection. Another Electronics Company
bought them up. Production of the Tripath TA-2024 (15W by 2) has
stopped. Tripath chips are still being produced by the new parent
company but only the 100-watt and above chips.

The Sonic Impact T Amp with the curved plastic top has the exact same
chip and exact same output specs as the Sonic Impact Super T Amp. The
difference was how they were packaged and what type of input and
outputs they had on the box. The T amp has squeeze terminals and Super
T has binding posts and gold plated RCAs. The case on the Super T looks
more audiophile while the case on the original T amp looks more Mattel.

The Super T Amp is no longer in production. They are available from
people that bought them for $159 and now want to double their money.
The Super T Amp NOS sells for $299.95

That is a bunch of money to spend when the Sonic Impact Gen 2 looks
nice and sells for $80. The Gen 2 also has a cleaned up and redesigned
circuit board. The Super T Amps are notorious for cold solder joints.

Sonic Impact Technologies bought up every TA-2024 they could get their
hands on. The Gen 2 has squeeze terminal speaker outputs, a single 3.5
stereo input (which comes with a 3.5 male to stereo female RCA
adapter), and 3.5 stereo headphone jack. It will run for about 12 hours
nearly wide open on 8 AA batteries and also has a wall wart. It is 15x2
watts just as the other Sonic Impacts were.

Hope this helps. I have a JPEG of the external photo layout sheet but
it is to big to attach. Anybody that would like a copy, please PM an
Email address to send it to.
