I too have a Z-sys, they did implement a loopback , but the firmware that provided it was flaky. It's evidently been re-instated. I can tell you this however, I think it's a better idea to go for the SB and an external DAC unless you need the transporters features as imho , its dac is very cold and lifeless and in my system the transporter is not an improvment over my CDP barring the convenience of having your music at your fingertips.
