Ive been a happy Inguz DRC user since that plugin was first released,
but a few weeks ago I switched from Inguz (on slimserver) to the new
BrutefirDRC plugin (on squeezecenter).

The main reason for switching was cpu efficiency. Inguz took 60% of the
cpu, which is a problem when it is running on the main family desktop.
If the kids started playing a game then both the music and their game
would jump, and everyone complained. Brutefir runs in about 6% cpu,
which is much nicer. In a quick listening test it didnt sound any
different. Any why should it - its just convolution, right?....

Last night was my first opportunity for some serious listening.
Normally the speakers live on wall brackets near the ceiling of the
room, so for serious listening they are lifted onto stands. I have
separate DRC filters for each configuration. I was surprised to find
that it sounded distinctly different, although I dont have words to
describe the difference.

I guess my next step is to reinstall slimserver and Inguz in vmware for
ABX testing and some measurements.

Anyone else tried this?
