My point was more that it is the wrong tool - it will do the job, but 
it's a very expensive way of doing it. You don't need all that balanced 
stuff - just a hi-Z buffer amp. If you want professional stuff, how 
about Pete Cornish's mini-line driver set [1] ?

Ah, I was confused - my mate uses a Hohner Blues Blaster which can be 
wired hi-Z unbalanced, or lo-Z balanced.
