When you hear the SACD sounding better it makes it easy to conclude that SACD is a better quality format than red book. In fact no such conclusion can be arrived at. Sean said it all when he explained that SACDs and their CD equivalent are mastered differently in many cases.
Music companies should focus on mastering all their music better rather than putting effort into quality only for the unadmirable reason of pushing unnecessary DRM-ridden new formats.
