In my opinion, the differences between the SB and the Cambridge Audio transport simply come from the (poor) SB isolation. The CDT drive is very well isolated, while the SB is not : it needs explicit isolation.
I experienced similar differences in the past and i was obliged to change the power supply and use a Belkin PureAV isolator.
