a pcm stream is a pcm stream it would most likely work, not that i have tried. Most DVD players can do PCM i think ? the feature is not uncommon. I know for sure that an old pioneer i had could do it. And i know that my MeridianG98DH can do it on the aux digital output, I'm however unsure what it outputs there when i'm playing dvd-audio (then i use the propriotary smartlink to my ht processor). I know that there exists DYI kits and modded players that can output 6ch spdiff from SACD or DVD audio, this is not encouraged by the record companies. https://www.dvdupgrades.ch/ . For dvd movies and such there is nothing preventing this functionality, for hi-res the record industry is scared of digital outputs, the few that exists are propriotary and only work within the same brand, however HDMI migth solve this at least for ht processors as HDMI has copy protection etc. -- Mnyb ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Mnyb's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=4143 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=49588 _______________________________________________ audiophiles mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/audiophiles
