I'm in the need of some advice! I've been running an SB3 for a little
over a year now and have been very pleased with it. It was, in fact,
the reason for my upgrading an aging system over the last year (see
current stats below). The primary use of the SB3 is as a source for
internet radio streams rather than as a front end for a music server.
At this time I have no plans to go to a server as a source but, of
course, that could change.
My question is would an outboard DAC give me better sound through the
SB3 with radio streams? I've been looking seriously at the CIAudio
VDA-2, having read some very good things about the unit. While I know
that I may be trying beat the silk purse-sow's ear thing concerning
internet radio streams (I do try to get the highest quality streams)
I'd like to have some opinions. Perhaps someone's using a VDA-2 in
their system and could comment. Thanks in advance!
