Simple. ABX is a valid test and A/B isn't. Yes, hobbyists can and frequently do ABX testing on low-end systems, but audiophiles can also do them on high-end systems any time they want to disappoint themselves. A/B testing on the other hand produces garbage results no matter what kind of system you're doing it on.
