No ridicule from me, I'm not even gonna comment on it other than the physical implementation as seen on the photo's in the previous message.
The following two observations bring me to the conclusion below: 1. I read that thread with the scope-traces and it was mentioned that there was distortion caused by the core exiting the braid in the coax. If one takes that for accurate and: 2. On the photo here, the two pcb traces are cut only at the RCA connector. Than, the mod can be improved by also cutting the same two traces at the primary side of the transformer.
