I'm using an NAD T-754 home theater receiver, which has a 6-channels of
amplification at 70 watts per channel. NAD rates their amps
conservatively, with all channels driven, and it can sustain peaks of
200+ watts. It's a good, honest amp that doesn't wimp out during
Sabbath albums or planet-busting movie explosions. Sounds good at low
volumes, too.

AudioAdvisor is selling this receiver for $499, less than half the
$1099 list price. I paid $800 for mine and it was well worth it at
that price. $499 is a steal if you're looking for a great receiver.
Comes with an excellent learning remote, too.

I'm also thinking the NAD might help your midrange problem. I hear no
lack of mids or lower mids in my system; the NAD matches well with the
Omnisats. I'm using an 80Hz crossover point.
