I use the ECM8000 with a Tascam. The one tip I can give you is to record with the mic pointed vertically rather than straight at the tweeter. I find that gives better results. > Correct hook up? DRC or REQW will take that measured response and allow you to generate a correction filter for it. DRC does this automatically (although with many adjustable parameters); REQW is more manual and less sophisticated, but also more controllable (you know exactly what it's doing).
